HELSDINSKI is a Dutch group formed by and focused on K-bee (vocals) and pianist Jeroen van Helsdingen. The groups first CD released in 2002 {We welcome You} was released under the name; Van Helsdingen Projekt featuring K-bee, and was a modest, though impressive, hit among the crème de la crème of music lovers in Holland.
Currently the group is recording their second album.
Which will soon be available @ CD Baby.
The music combines the funk and jazzrock of the 70s and traces of Gospel combined with the sounds of Nu-Soul.
Without a doubt the bands strongest asset are the compositions. One of the leading music magazines (Music Maker) wrote: " Excellent compositions and lovely arrangements completed with strings and horns, show that pianist Van Helsdingen is a musician pur sang who can compose and arrange at the same time, without showing off or getting stuck in muzak."
The album was recorded and produced with many top talented Dutch musicians from bands like ''Total Touch'' and ''Candy Dulfer''s Funky Stuff''.
Many of the songs on ''We Welcome You'' are mega star worthy. Only few can even dream of delivering such a high quality debut album. All vocals and vocal arrangements are for account of K-bee, a "white singer with a black sound ". Her typical multi-vocal background recording is an important sound-catcher. Looking forward to the launch of their second album Helsdinksi is ready to conquer the world.
