Upon first glance, one sees in Engaged two handsome fellas with two handsome guitars. At second glance, one says, "wait a minute, who let two guys with acoustics on stage at a rock venue." This reaction, though understandable, is full of fears that are proved unsubstantiated upon the first sounds to come from the stage. As the slightly more scraggily of the two characters lets loose a powerful, "wowha!" before beginning to chunk out a righteously thick guitar part, one can relax. Yea, though the two on stage carry acoustic guitars, the rock is in them.
Engaged is about death and rebirth. In 2000, Engaged emerged from the rubble of missouri band, RMS, as a four-piece chaotic ape rock act. However, in time, Engaged grew ill and died of natural causes. It was not long after the 2002 demise that Engaged emerged again, this time as the two-man acoustic wrecking crew.
In the days of the first Engaged, a few discs were released including 2000''s "Distance is a Gaping Wound" and 2001''s "Ate Songs." The discs were fuel for two consecutive summer tours, the "Nothing" tour and the "Music Tank" tour. Each tour saw about 40 shows in about 40 days. There was much rejoicing.
Now, we live in a different time, the time of the second Engaged. These two acoustic-wielding maniacs bring a musical integrity as well as an inescapable passion that draws audiences to react. Engaged has released an acoustic disc entitled, "Hollow Bodies," and another full length, "untitled," is now available.
Tours are being booked, radio is being courted, endorsement talks are happening between the group and https://www.tradebit.comtin to accompany the existing endorsement with Fernandez Guitars, all in all, life is grand.
