The music of Tunnelvision lies between the extremes of abstract experimental rock and contemporary rock music. The band manages to maintain a certain uniqueness between these "boundaries" by adopting an honest approach to thier music.
Tunnelvision is the realization of four Ottawa musicians who value artistic integrity, honesty, persistence, and intense live performances. It is the singular vision built from four separate sensibilities, four unique personalities, and four lifetimes of musical influences. Formed in the fall of 2004, the band is in the process of writing, recording and producing its first release, Comfort and Lies, due in 2007. The band currently has a 4-song EP available.
The music -- Alex Treen''s powerful vocals, the determined lead and bass guitars of Andrew Gharib and Jason Woodley and the apoplectic percussion of Sean Piegon -- stands on its own: a being from a species you''ve never heard of. It will claim your senses and make you aware of a self you didn''t know you were. It will take you for a thrill ride, challenge you, puncture you, and make you question everything you thought was real. And then in a cruel instant it will leave you to return drowsily to your reality, shaken and breathless, wondering whether it will call you the next day.
