I''m a Tacoma Washington Native and started playing Piano in the mid 1970''s. I learned on a Yamaha Baby Grand that my parents bought when I was 6 or 7 years old. I was a difficult student. It was very hard for me to read sheet music so I''d often play by ear instead and/or create my own versions of whatever it was my piano teachers were trying to teach me. As a kid in the 1980''s my favorite artists were Vangelis, Art of Noise and the B-52''s. Later on I''d develop an appreciation for Brian Wilson''s work in Pet Sounds. A lot of the music on "Collections I" were songs I wrote as a kid on my Yama Baby Grand, kept in my head for years, then finaly re-composed on my KORG Triton Studio in 2005 & 2006. Today I rarely listen to music thats found on commerical radio and draw most of my inspiration from music that does not conform to mainstream commercial standards. This is why it''s hard for me to pin point a particular style. Somewhere between, Simple Piano, New Age, Dance, Lounge, Ambient, and Mood is a style that unique to me.
