Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers recorded this song in 1997 and it was released on an EP entitled Headlines and Heartbreaks. A journalist from the Bardstown newspaper, the Kentucky Standard, said some years later that the song pretty much told the whole story of the fire, which destroyed the distillery building plus six whiskey warehouses. It was fought by volunteer fire departments, but was subsequently allowed to burn itself out.
