Details:
Michael was born and raised in the foothills of East Tennessee. Always being the music lover growing up, he became inspired by his mother and older brother to begin playing guitar. His mother taught him his first song, "Wildwood Flower" at the age of 13. Since then, he has taught himself as well as always learning from the musicians he surrounded himself with. Michael has been singing his whole life, but only a few years ago did begin to do so in front of an audience. Writing music from the heart, his songs portray emotions from loves lost, found, or imagined, finding yourself, or just everyday life.
In September of 2010, he decided he was ready to step into the studio. Fully self-financed, he set out to record an album of his strongest songs at 423Studios in Bristol, TN. Joined by his long time friend and fellow musician Zachary Ross, the two went to work. With Michael on acoustic guitar, bass, and lead vocals and Zachary on drums, lead guitar, and harmonies, they began the process of recording a full band record. Two musicians, four instruments. After four longs months of sometimes-intermittent production, Michael’s dream had become a reality. His debut album “Doublespeak” was finished. Upon completion of the album, Zachary elected to stay behind the drum kit, and they added David Nipper (lead guitar) and Cameron Tate (Bass) to their ranks. All three of these individuals are proficient at more than one instrument, and bring a prodigious amount of talent to the table; Michael was more then fervent to be able to call them his band mates. With a full band, the real work begins.
After all, without pursuit, dreams will never be anything more than dreams.
