The Lonesomes began in the mid-90s in Portland when Midwest college roommates Phil Favorite and Mark Zehr reconnected in the Pacific Northwest and began writing songs together. A few years later, drummer Robyn Hercey matriculated from the Midwest to round out the trio, which recorded a few demo CDs before recording their debut CD, "Circling the Sun," which came out in 2004. Local Portland guitarist Mark Dybvig solidified the quartet late that year before the band released their follow up, "Quick Fixes & Power Trips," in 2006. Both records were produced by Brian Berg of 44 Long. Several years of writing and performing, along with the ups and downs of real life, have led to the long-awaited third album, "There''s No Denying Josephine," which the band recorded in the studio they built over 2008-2010. "Josephine" is due for release on Feb. 1, 2011.
