"Half the Moon" includes the first six songs Annie ever penned. After hearing her new music her personal manager exclaimed, "Now this is the truth of your art". He had cajoled her into this new realm of songwriting, and once she got started she never looked back. Annie now makes her home in Nashville, writing on her own and with other top songwriters in Music City, and she loves every minute of it!
Two singles were released from this CD including, "Dear Heartache" and "Eighty Acres of Stars", which were both also released as videos. "Eighty Acres of Stars" tells the true story of how its songwriter, Richard Leigh ("Don''t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue", "The Greatest Man I Never Knew" and "Somewhere In My Broken Heart") asked his lovely wife Shannon to marry him. Annie and cast shot the video on the Leigh farm south of Nashville and it received airplay on CMT''s Pure Country and other outlets. The single topped out at #1 on many internet charts and also charted on the coveted Music Row report. Both videos can be seen on Annie''s website:
