Serendipity-A Twist of Fate: Anthony West presents his debut album from Pathwork Music. The 12 Songs on this sweet album represent a year long trek stretching out the young talent. The story is laced with creativity and inspiration it certainly bares repeating.
Starting as early as 2007 Anthony impressed everyone attending the Young Musicians Camp at the Bear Valley Music Festival, Bear Valley, California. His guitar playing and sweet vocals made everyone take notice. His creativity was simply remarkable. And combined with a personal energy that was calm and very grounded he caught the attention of Pathwork Music producer Bill Wentz. Bill knew that he was listening to something special when he heard Anthony play and sing. It was something that more people needed to experience. The image of an album project was born at that summer camp.
Jacob Machado was taken on as executive producer for the project, the Pathwork Studio was made completely available for the teams creative energy, Bill moved into an engineering role and the project left preproduction and started laying down tracks in November of 2009. We painstakingly recorded rhythm tracks for the body of the album for about three months then went back and recorded the vocals. In trying to meet our deadline of August 1st 2010 as a release date we decided to produce the Serendipity with a true singer-songwriter feel. Many of the tracks are guitar/vocal only a few were produced with an added bass part and fewer still with drums. We were very careful not to let the production process clutter the purity of the songs.
The cover art was conceptualized by SierraLynne White. We were all very pleased with the final product and hope that everyone will recognize the metaphors. A twist of fate, grounded in the energy of the earth, grows into the light of the colors of the rainbow to create the Serendipity of Life.
