Paranormal Rock A new name for our style of rock music. It encompasses and blends many styles of rock and all music that came before it along with newly invented flavors of sonic sojourns into new ground. There are no rules except one, that there are no rules. We think its fun, challenging, and a good way to keep the juices flowing. The ancient Chinese thought that each piece of music has its own spirit, its own soul. We agree and that gives rise to all sorts of metaphysical musings. And we love to muse.
While tipping our musical hat to everyone because we love all music, the songs are about our journey into the paranormal and the why behind it. For example in fact all people are matter and energy. We are all flesh and blood, One People. We all live on the same planet. We are all made of the same stuff. Underneath everything, we are all literally One. Why is that important? Because we historically all act like we are in kindergarten, babies not willing to share the Earth and its resources. We say," this is mine and you can''t have any." We are a bunch of babies. And we act like babies. Only now we babies have some really dangerous toys. We have large baby armies with big bombs and baby corporations that support them. We have fanatic religious babies who want to kill and think God wants them to do that. Our goal is to help ourselves realize what we can do about it before its too late.
Maybe we should start by agreeing to stop killing each other over every thing that happens. Is that a radical enough idea?
Anyway....... the songs flow out of us about this kind of stuff and much deeper, ( that’s why we called the band “ Off The Deep ” ) and a lot of different styles of songwriting and music come out with each song ending up having its own style. Using much more than hard and easy rock and a mix of crunch both alternative and the rock of ages, then mix in some jazz, classical and progressive style and we are Off the Deep. New yet familiar. A way for open-minded expression of creativity to honor the rock masters and forge new metal and rock ......some is molten hot and other songs are like slipping into a warm hot tub. Music is the language of the universe, they are probably listening to music near Alpha Centauri on some planet right now.
