Strange Daze is made up of some very talented young rockers. Their sound is fresh, original, and seeded in the roots of rock and blues. Don’t be fooled by age – the boys are good! With a combined experience of 35 years, what would you expect? A little bit of jazz, blues, classic rock, and contemporary sound, make Strange Daze a band to remember.
Jack Skrobot, the band’s drummer, pulls from the heavier side of music, grabbing his influence from harder bands like Tool and System of a Down. When it comes to adding a dark sound to the music that Strange Daze writes, Jack keeps things true to hard rock. Alex Weeks and Luke Lloyd, both guitarists for Strange Daze, always add a contemporary blues feel to the music, even though they have distinct sounds. Alex favors a mellower feel, while Luke leans toward a grittier edge. Scott Kanavel, the bassist for Strange Daze, adds an amazing balance to everything the band writes. His understanding of rhythm and undertones gives their music great depth. Chris Emmert, vocalist, draws from his love of blues and jazz every time he steps up to the microphone. Chris imparts a broad spectrum of lyrics and feeling to the band’s sound. Together, Strange Daze creates its own take on music.
The band has many successes under their belt. Their music has been featured in a 2008 film production, and they have competed and won in competitions against much more seasoned bands.
