Album notes from Erin:
This project has been a long time coming. I started planning to record a solo dulcimer album several years ago, but it never seemed to work out until now. It has been quite a journey to get to this point. I started playing mountain dulcimer when I was seven, and it quickly became a very important part of my life. I won the National Mountain Dulcimer Contest in 2004, graduated from Mr. Rogers'' Neighborhood Academy in 2005, and went on to study music in college. Then, on August 6th, 2007, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin''s Lymphoma and music took on a whole new meaning to me. My family and friends were a constant support and my faith gave me the strength to get through each day, but music was my place of refuge. Whenever I played my dulcimer, my worries and pain drifted away as I became absorbed in the music. I finished my last chemo treatment on January 22, 2008, and am now free of cancer! Praise the Lord!
This CD is a collection of my favorite songs, songs that carried me through the difficult days and brought a smile to my face. It was recorded by JF Stover in Hill City, KS in March, 2008. The title comes from my website, https://www.tradebit.com, where I chronicled my cancer story.
Dedicated to anyone who''s life has been impacted by cancer in some way. Psalm 57:1- "Yeah, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge until these calamities be overpast."

Erin''s Biography:
Erin Rogers, from Concordia, KS, can do more with three strings than most people can do with six. Audiences are continually amazed as they watch her fingers fly over the fretboard of her mountain dulcimer. Erin has been playing the mountain dulcimer for fifteen years, and in that time has developed a mastery of her instrument which few can match. Her playing combines technical proficiency with deep musical expression.

Erin''s musical journey began when she started playing piano at the age of five. She soon discovered that pianos are not very portable and was given a mountain dulcimer for her seventh birthday. She taught herself to play, fell in love with the instrument, and soon developed a playing style all her own. Erin won the 2004 National Mountain Dulcimer Championship at the age of seventeen, becoming the youngest ever to win this title.

In 2007, Erin was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and music became an important part of the healing process for her. As a response to this experience, Erin recorded her first solo album, “Quiet Sunshine,” in March 2008. She is now cancer free and desires to share the healing touch of music with others going through painful trials.

At age twenty-two, Erin has studied old-time, bluegrass, Irish, jazz, and classical music at the college level. She graduated from South Plains College (SPC) with an Associate’s Degree in commercial music in May 2010. Erin has performed extensively, both as a solo artist and as a member of the trio “Scenic Roots.”

Erin’s goal is to brighten someone’s day wherever she goes. Her passionate playing and unique arrangements are sure to do just that. You can find out more about Erin by visiting https://www.tradebit.com or https://www.tradebit.com
