Details:
Joel Wheeler is a fairly normal guy. He likes reading books, wearing robes, eating bacon, and watching cartoons. He also likes to draw, mow lawns and exercise moderately. When not doing any of those things, Joel likes to dedicate time to his “fantasy” band, The Black Albinos. Within the confines of his self-created bedroom-pop world, Joel writes songs that reflect his interests and tastes, both musical and lyrical.
While Joel is the one constant member of the band, his music isn’t made without help, and he would like to thank Oliver Davison, Cole Howson, Dan Jones, Mat Keselman, Brian Kim, Ryan Lowe and Tokyo Speirs for their contributions to and participation in The Black Albinos project.
As an artist, Joel hopes to make others laugh, cry and maybe feel other more complicated emotions as well. In addition to being a genius songwriter/musician, he is also an aspiring producer/mixing engineer perilously close to completing Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program.
At present Joel lives in both B.C. and Ontario, though he’s not especially fond of winters in either place.
