Razing the Sun is a conceptual album which has been under careful construction for around a year and a half and has seen its completion this past August of 2006. The band is very proud of the album and hopes to distribute it to a national scene very soon. Three hundred copies of the album were initially distributed at our hometown CD Release show in Des Moines and has within a couple of weeks of being in the greater Des Moines public ear received stellar reviews left and right from press and fans alike. We joined with our producer, Ari of Inner Light Records to craft the album with precision and integrity to assure that every facet of this record played an integral role in its concept. The music, the lyrics and the artwork all work together harmoniously to create the brooding yet poignant aura you will inevitably gather from the album. The story of Razing the Sun swings between the cosmos and the mundane exploring philosophical conundrums as well as entertaining mundane and age old concepts such as love and deceit with a new twist. Many will gain exorbitant inspiration from the album while some will be touched with an ominous revelation of harsh reality. We have been touched by the album as it has certainly taken on a life of its own over the course of its construction. It contains many moods for a vast array of audiences. You may enjoy the piece as an active audience and explore its comprehensive depths and garrulous musical fantasies or you can enjoy it as a more passive listener for its popular melodies and catchy hooks which will have trouble escaping you once they are in your head.
Mindrite as a band strives to bring deeper meaning than just rhythm and melody to their music. They strive to do something original in a culture where it is all too common to simply ride on the coattails of the set paradigm. Mindrite hopes to graduate to a new paradigm of music all while retaining the classic elements of superb songwriting which will always please that common thread in the human ear.
