MP3 OSGOODS - Smother & Shrink

Infectious power-pop with a quirky edge

9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop

Details:
Armed with infectious melodies and inventive, quirky lyrics, singer/songwriter Anthony Nigro formed the band while attending school at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where the Osgoods performed as a trio and recorded 1999''s Assistant Manager EP before relocating to Los Angeles in 2001.

For their first full-length effort, the trio effectively mixed lush vocal harmonies and pop hooks with a raw sound. Automatic Do-over, was released in 2002 and was very well received by fans and critics alike. Accompanied by new drummer, Dan Hull, the band began work on material for 2006''s Smother & Shrink which was released October 1st.

A final line-up change welcomes bass player and skilled backing vocalist Chris Evans into the fold. The result is a rock-solid rhythm section that rounds out the Osgoods sound and contributes to the group''s knack for charming audiences with their distinct brand of agitated pop.

What''s an OSGOOD?

OSGOODS lead singer/songwriter and lead guitarist, Anthony Nigro has been playing guitar since a very young age. OSGOODS were given that name after Nigro''s knees. As a kid, Anthony developed Osgood-Schlatter disease which is a bony part above the knee that becomes inflammed during growth spurts as an adolescent. The name was quirky enough and the name stuck. We define OSGOOD as someone who has the ability to produce, sing and rock every song they play.
