Well we all grew up in State College, Pennsylvania, home of Penn State University. We got together as a band during out junior and senior years of High School. We played around the town that year and managed to write around 10 or so songs that we felt were really unique to us. We did all the normal advertising on MySpace and Facebook at the time but during Steve, Jesse and Matt’s senior year something amazing happened. A producer from Nashville noticed us! His name was Charlie Kelley, a four time Grammy nominated producer, musician, and songwriter. He said he really liked our songs so he had us come down and record a 10 song CD in Nashville. It was unlike anything we’d ever done! We released the CD on iTunes and sold copies around town to great reception and reviews. Everything seemed to be going great until our drummer Steve decided that he wanted to go to a college called Full Sail in Orlando Florida. We were all pretty bummed because the band had been doing so well but we took a little break while he attended the school. Before we knew it he had graduated and moved back. We all got back together and started playing gigs again. We all got so much better as a band and wrote more songs. And then the big break. Steve got offered an internship in Los Angeles to work at a recording studio. Of course he accepted the internship but little did we know this would be the best thing that could of happened to us. He moved out to Los Angeles and within half a year he had gotten the chance to be in the studio with artists such as All Time Low, 3OH!3, Forever The Sickest Kids, HIM and David Archuleta through assisting for producer Matt Squire. Also in his time there he became very close friends with the owner of the studio Larry Goetz. In the time that he was doing all of this the rest of the guys were back home practicing and writing songs. It didn’t take much time for Larry to realize that Hopes High had a lot of talent and everyone ended up moving out to Los Angeles when Larry agreed to produce and engineer our new EP. We have lived in LA about a year and a half now and here is our EP Move Stop Wait. Hopefully exciting times are right around the corner for us! Keep a lookout for Hopes High!
