"Their debut isn’t out yet, but Albany indie outfit the Lateshift is getting me excited for its release. “Good Boy Calling” is a jazzy, John Mayer style track, if John Mayer would stop it with the whiny-ass attitude and wrote an upbeat, soulful song. The verses are quick and snappy, the acoustic guitar is vibrant, and the vocals are high-flying. The bass groove and percussion-filled bridge leading in to the last chorus is just another notch in the band’s belt.
Follow-up “Streetlight Hero” is another jam, with softer-vocals but just as much heart as its predecessor. With everything the LateShift is doing right, their "Feet on the Street" , due out in late November, can’t come soon enough. Get stoked for it.
