Through its program of constant development, The Frank G. Hough Co., Libertyville, Illinois, has in the past few years, designed, developed and perfected a new "power team" now used in "PAYLOADER" and "PAYMOVER" Units.

The torque converter and accessory drive and the Model P-600 transmission make up this new "power team" which enables the units discussed herein to do more work in less time with little or no fatigue to operators. Because of design and construction, the service life of these units has been considerably increased compared to those units equipped with a spring loaded clutch and sliding gear transmission. The purpose of this manual is to aid the mechanic in learning the principles of operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, repair and overhaul of the torque converter and accessory drive and the Model p-600 transmission.

This manual is divided into 4 groups:

GROUP I Units using Borg and Beck torque converters and P-600 transmission with "open" clutch packs.

GROUP II Units using IHC torque converters and P-600 transmissions with "closed" clutch packs.

GROUP III Units using Borg and Beck torque converters and P-600 transmissions with "closed" clutch packs.

GROUP IV Units using Borg and Beck torque converters or IHC torque converters with 1960 style P-600 transmissions.
