This song was written in 1996 and recorded in Los Angeles during the 2002 sessions for STARFIRE''s debut LP "Eye of the Storm." While "In the End" and "No One But You," both written in 1997, were added to the initial album, the creative vision for the album suggested that "Detour" would not flow would the original concept for "Eye of the Storm." Initially released with the soundtrack for the text-only web-based fan-fiction "Computer Task Force NETRANGER," the song was re-mixed for release as a digital single to join the music of "Eye of the Storm" with never-before heard material to further promote the CD.
