The Resistanse is a progressive/alternative rock band based in Seattle, WA, formed in 2009. Their sound is a unique blend of violins, electric guitars and keyboards, portraying an atmosphere of ambiance with a dark hard rock sensibility.
The Resistanse’s self-titled debut album blends emotional themes such as love, ambition, lust, and isolation, in tracks “Starlight,” “Unwind You,” and “Swept Away.” “Resistance” is a song dedicated to the Fer Réseau of The French Resistance in WWII. Exploring mythology and fantasy, “Queen of Angels” tells the story of a man’s odyssey to reunite with his lover. The Resistanse has played in venues throughout the greater Seattle area to rave reviews, and placed 2nd in the first ever Jimmy Hendrix Battle Of The Bands in 2010.
Frontman Julando Samson is a 2005 graduate of Musicians Institute (MI) in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to attending MI, Julando served as a Specialist in the United States Armed Forces from 1997 to 2003.
Julando won 1st place two years in a row as a solo guitar instrumentalist in the U.S Army FORSCOM talent competition (2001, 2002). Touring with the U.S. Army Entertainment, Julando has played for hundreds of thousands of troops stationed around the world.
