"Hurricane" defies categorization with its upbeat tempo, elasticity and unique blend of styles, picking up pieces of rap, rock, and country. "When You''re Good To Mama" evokes desire, with the velvet richness of Rain Boe''s voice, embellished by the sound of tap dancing and various percussion instruments. In āIām Going to Miss you Someday,ā Rain Boeās voice takes on a huskier and darker tone and climaxes at a bridge where she vents out a rage of emotion at a frantic pace.
Rain Boe works with a number of talented studio musicians. The guitarist, Tim Pierce, draws from a variety of influences from classic rock to country. On "Gloomy Sunday" Pierceās guitar sets the tone, wailing and soaring to emotional heights. Matt Laug is on drums except for the song DoƱa Teresa, in which Josh Freese performs. Pianist Michael Asher and trumpeter Steve Madaio create the speakeasy jazz atmosphere in "When You''re Good to Mama." Other musicians include bassist Paul Bushnell and rapper William Randolph.
