The second EP in the three-part series "Danger Invites Rescue," "Invites" is a much more reclusive and paradoxical (but funny) look at modern love through the eyes of the modern man--and things don''t look good.
Love is tough, and mostly driven by evolutionary and genetic factors. We care not to acknowledge this fact in much the same way we care not to acknowledge that our dogs aren''t humans. Survival is cruel and if we ever hope to survive in a modern world, we must act modern--and honest.
Mostly recorded in an apartment in west Texas, Hollis Webb takes a DIY approach to production in much the same way as someone who holes away in a small space laboring over a project in a workshop or attic--big ideas-- small resources. Funny, honest, and romantic. Danger invites rescue.
INVITES is:
1. Typhoid Mary 2. The Signs (and what they say) 3. Cruel 4. Love Song for Lubbock 5. Enemy of Romance 6. Invited
Hollis Webb - Vocals, guitar, organ, drum sounds, keyboards, trombone, ukelele Mark Kratovil and Hollis Webb - Handclaps on 2.
