Details:
Tiziano Ruggeri and Carlo Conti, both born in Rome, began their music careers by following different paths: one at the S.P.M.T. in Rome, the other at the Conservatory in Perugia.
They had the chance to meet during one of the workshops they both attended, and as two friends, who share the same interest, began to perform in various groups such as the Testaccio orchestra – featuring artists as Marvin Stamm and Vince Benedetti – and the Marco Omicini orchestra – featuring artists as Eddie Henderson and George Garzone. In addition, both have performed in smaller groups– trios and quintets – with https://www.tradebit.comsay and https://www.tradebit.comlotti, which stimulated them to form their own quintet. With the support of Enrico Bracco on guitar, Stefano Nunzi on double bass and Andrea Nunzi on drums, a renowned rhythm section, as well as good friends, they began to explore their musical talents with I Conti Ruggeri quintet. In June 2007 they released their first album “Cabosong” published by Philology Jazz Records.
All the tracts are original material that recall the styles and the artists of the 50’s and 60’s that inspired them. The influences of various artists such as C. Baker, L. Morgan, W. Shaw, B. Ervin, O. Coleman are easily recognized, along with solid Italian talents such as Claudio Corvini and the great Massimo Urbani.
