I have been composing and playing music for more than forty years, and have composed more than seven hundred pieces, writing for everything from solo piano to symphony orchestra. My main instrument has always been sax, but I have performed at various times on more than twenty different instruments. While jazz and classical have been my primary focus, many of my compositions feature a hard, driving rock edge, and a funky, "Tower of Power" type horn section. Influences which may be discerned in my music include Bach, Beethoven, The Don Ellis Big Band, John Klemmer, Frank Zappa, Weather Report, Chick Corea, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, Cream, King Crimson, The Residents, John McLaughlin, Jeff Beck, The Allman Bros., Tower of Power, Debussy, Barber, Stravinsky, Spyro Gyra, and Stan Kenton.
