How do you define Blackheadz? The foundation is defiantly Hard Rock. The messages scream Punk, but the groove oozes with soul. When you ask the band how they classify themselves, they will politely tell you, “Rock, Punk n’ Roll and a lot of F---n Soul.”
Blackheadz was established in 2004. All of the band members were previously friends, working on their own musical projects. Shay, the lead singer and bass player, who is originally from Sparta, GA, brought everyone together to form the ultimate band, B-Mac, the keyboardist, from an unknown location; Shep!, the drummer, originally from LaGrange, Georgia and Scott on guitar comes from Atlanta, Georgia, where it all began.
Blackheadz debut album, 8 Inches or More speaks of fun, sex, politics, rock and roll, lust, self-reliance, and the state of American society. Each song is packed with a message that is sure to nibble or tug at your ear, (depending on what you are into).
The performances of Blackheadz are astounding. They have been known to turn the most hard-core hip-hop head into rock fans and have the most racist bigot screaming at their feet, with just one set.
