The first time I ever read the Bible, I ended up at the bottom of a steep stairway with the pages of Matthew 24 torn off in my hand. In this text, Jesus answered a question, "What will be the signs of the End of the Age?" This collection of songs answers this same question while exploring the notion that history does repeats itself, and previous, partial fulfillments of Bible prophecy will have their ultimate fulfullment at The End of the Age. Other main themes that are explored include the prophecy of Two Bronze Mountains, Daniel 7 & 8, The Restrainer, and the identity of the anti-Christ founded in the riddle in the book of Revelation.
History Repeats Itself
That which has happened before will happen again. In other words, that which is going to happen has already happened in the past. This is why former fulfillments of prophesy are the patterns, or the types of things to come. Yes indeed. To begin to understand where the world is heading before Christ''s glorious return, we need only to look at where the world has been to understand what the world is going to be like in the near future. Even now - the things that are going on in the world today can be found in the past. Read Ecclesiastes 1:9,10 and 3:15; and 1Corinthiians 10:11.
A Foundational Truth: The End Times will play out - but only one way. There is only one End Time Story, and there will be no alternative endings. Make no mistake about it - the Prophets of the Holy Bible all have something to say about how this one story is going to play out. Most amazing? Yes, because they are all telling something about the same story. For example:
"The Beginning of Sorrows" described by Jesus in Matthew 24:3-8, is the same account of events commonly referred to in both Sacred, as well as Pop Culture as "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse", from the Book of Revelation 6:1-8. Let me encourage you now to get a Bible so you can read these passages for yourself. Here''s the story: a rider rides out conquering, and with the intent to conquer. That rider eventually meets an adversary, and the confrontation between the two eventually takes peace from the Earth. Yes, another World War is coming soon. Out of the destruction will come a world incredibly decimated and devestated by famine, death, and disease. Jesus says this is only the beginning, and so does John the Revelator, for not only is there more to Jesus'' story, there is also more to the book of Revelation. The Beginning of Sorrows is the opening of the first Four Seals of the Apocalypse.
Two Bronze Mountains
Let''s now consider that The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are in fact the "Four Great Winds" that blow upon the Earth in the End Times. Read Zechariah6:1-6 from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible. White, red, black, and green (pale) riders and chariots are seen coming from either the North, South, West, or East, and it is an event involving two bronze (man-made) mountains that causes these events to unfold. In other words, an event involving two man-made mountains opens the 1st Seal of the Book of Revelation, and the white horse rider rides out into the world from the west conquering and with the intent to conquer.
The Prophet Daniel
The book of Daniel gives us another look at these same events that make up the one End Time Story. Consider for yourself Daniel 7:1-4 with verses 16-18. Now look at another vision of the same story as it appears in Daniel 8:1-9 with verses 19-24. It''s all the same story, and Daniel emphasizes that what happened once (beasts out of the sea - WET) will happen again when the prophecy is ultimately fulfilled (beasts out of the earth - DRY). Daniel''s End Time Story is the same story that is being told by Zechariah, Jesus, and John. The chronological events of each version are exactly the same, and there is no difference, none whatsoever.
The Book of Daniel tells that the anti-Christ power rises up to control the world only after the the 1st King of the known Western world is "broken off". Likewise, the Apostle Paul tells us the same story in his Second Letter to the church in Thessolonica. Consider Chapter Two of this letter, verses 3-10.
Paul is reminding the church in Thessolonica that he has previously "told them" of a power that is present - a power that is holding back another power of lawlessness already at work in their day and time (verses 5-7). Then, in verse 8, Paul looks way into the future and states that this power of lawlessness will be overthrown by the splendor of the coming of the Lord Jesus.
Is it true then that the evil power present in the Apostle Paul''s day will be once again present in the world at the time of the Second Coming of Christ? Of course it''s true. The Holy Word of the Most High God, the Word that will stand forever and ever, says it''s true. Remember - history repeats itself.
The winds that blew upon the sea will blow again upon the earth; and the anti-Christ power that once rose up out of the sea will rise again out of the earth. Read the 13th Chapter of the Book of Revelation. Now consider this description of this enemy of God as it is found in Revelation''s 17th chapter, verse 8: "Behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is (to come)". And just like in days past, the beast will rise to power again once The Restrainer of the End Times is taken out of the way.
The Bible declares that there are 7 names associated with the kings of this beast power during the time the beast "is not" percieved to be the beast power. Read this riddle of the anti-Christ''s identity as it is found in Revelation 17:9-11.
The sum of the number of the names of these 7 kings adds up to 665 because the 8th king who is coming, who is of the 7, has the ever notorious numbered name of 666. Read this part of the riddle of the anti-Christ''s identity in Revelation 13:18.
So, let us ponder: what power ruled the Earth in the Apostle Paul''s day? What power ruled over the kings of the Earth after this power was taken out of the way? What nation is the most powerful nation in the world today? What must happen for the beast power that was, and is not, to rise to power again?
"That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons that history has to teach" - Aldous Leonard Huxley.
Listen to the music. It tells the story of what is and is to come. The prophetic days of the future are now upon us. Know the truth because the truth will make you free. Jesus is The Truth, The Way, and The Life. He either is, or he was a liar. It''s that simple.
