There are three albums that I dust off and play as soon as the snow falls. Vince Guaraldi’s “Charlie Brown Christmas”, Ella’s “Wishing You a Swinging Christmas” and Dean Martin’s “Christmas with Dino”. I’ve often wondered what a King Cole Trio Christmas CD would sound like. That was the inspiration for this idea, original holiday tunes with some unmistakably recognizable classics. The album has the playfulness of the King Cole Trio, the warmth of a Sinatra or Bing Crosby holiday tune with a little Miles Davis cool thrown in. All my holiday jazz influences will be on one project.
