Details:
William Blake’s Songs has soaked into the counter culture within British art. He is a London poet; we still identify with his vision of an administration which restricts the spirit and our city’s “chartered streets”. His poems explore two contrary states which he calls innocence and experience represented by the animals ‘lamb’ and ‘tyger’.
Jude Cowan was born in Manchester and lives in SE London. She is a poet and musician. Her first collection of poetry, For the Messengers about world news is published by Donut Press (March 2011) (see https://www.tradebit.com). She is a soprano with the Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir and many years ago studied with John Stevens at Community Music.
She has released two previous albums, To America (2000) and Doodlebug Alley (2010).
‘Doodlebug Alley is nothing if not experimental and uncompromising’ Cry-me-a-torch-song
‘outstandingly unique nature and exceedingly rewarding (if undeniably ultra-oddball) delights’ David Kidman
‘like gently lowering yourself onto the point of a kaiser’s helmet’ Folking Cool
