The Hendricks-Schmued Effect is made up of Larry Schmued, Billy Hendricks and Michael Heavner. The project began shortly after Larry Schmued moved from his native Hollywood to rural Jefferson Arkansas. He began meeting and recording local talent, often while accompanying them on his homemade piezo-electric guitars. By chance, he met a talented vocalist by the name of Billy Hendricks and the two soon began writing and recording original music. As the project progressed, they met a local musician, music instructor and music producer by the name of Michael Heavner, who added keyboard, guitar and percussion tracks, as well as providing the mixing and mastering. The resulting music presumably reflects the diverse dynamics of the band. Although Larry and Billy have many different opinions, their agreement is uncanny when it comes to music. Then there’s Michael, who, devoured the novel material with great enthusiasm and contributed to the project on multiple levels. Like a desert mirage, the songs are somewhat enigmatic and are probably better experienced than described.
