Details:
Freezerburnt - Gus wrote this song without knowing what the word meant. He doesn’t care- it sounds cool.
Get Out - Debut’s single, this song was written after Gus went to a KISS concert that was virtually the same as the last one he went to a year before. Fun fact - lyrics written in a hallway at school.
Clingin’ to You - Originally written on an acoustic and meant to be an acoustic only song. Things didn’t turn out that way.
Puppeteer - Originally written for Gus’s band Aroshott (they never got the chance to play it.) It was written about a rough patch between Gus and a friend.
Rusty Nails - Originally written and recorded for a 2009 album titled “Arsenic,” (never released), this song was recorded three times over the course of three years.
Start Over - All lyrics written in Gus’s head while hiking at camp. He had to have something to thing about.
Take What’s Yours - Also originally written for Aroshott (also never played by them), this was the title track for Gus’s 2010 album (also never released.) The album contained all the songs on Debut except for Get Out, Clingin’ to You, and Start Over. All the songs were rerecorded for Debut except Sick of Love (Songs).
Sick of Love (Songs) - Speak of the devil. Like Clingin’ to You, this was originally an acoustic song. And it the song where it says Gus will stop writing love song? Lie.
Hellevator - Speak of the devil; literally. This was Aroshott’s main song (and by main song I mean only song.)
Wrong - Written because Gus was determined to write something in Eb. Gus’s favorite song of his.
