David shares his birth date, with one of his heroes.. Neil Sedaka (though David is some few years younger!).. David was bought up in North West London, and Hampstead Heath was where he often drove his pram. David wrote his first song aged thirteen, when his best pal Clive Smith urged him to come up with some lyrics to a tune David kept humming so they could impress famous 60s disc jockey Alan (fluff) Freeman whose car they used to clean.
The beginning of a compulsion that has never been cured!
In 1970, David met Alec Gould. Through Alec, David met Bob Jackson and David wrote great lyrics to Bobs catchy tunes.. David also did some work with Curly Clayton a great character of the studio scene.
Having been encouraged by the crazy genius Vivian Stanshall,David was inspired to compose his own music. Through pianist friend Allan Robertson, David started recording at BTW where the great bass guitarist Ross (John) Borthwick encouraged him to learn the guitar whilst producing some great tracks for him.
More recently workshops with Ray Davies and Barry Mason encouraged David to become Geezer. Geezer was then encouraged to become Osmosis by the brilliant Steve Du Melo who helped produce and arrange his current album Love With No Name which includes some wonderful guitar playing and production by Nick Michaels of Mews Productions. He is now currently writing a musical and is also working on promoting a childrens horror story set to music.
Throughout the years David has worked in many professions as well as the music business. Starting off with a very brief smell (sic) in the army in 1967 he went on to spend many minutes in various jobs - Ad Agencies, Covent Garden and Smithfield Markets and the London Ambulance Service!
