MP3 Beau Landry - Demos For The Sweethearts

Smart Lo-Fi Rock

14 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Classic Rock, ROCK: 90''s Rock

Beau Landry was born in San Jose, California on January 19th, 1975. He grew up in Gilroy California (the garlic capitol of the world) and quickly discovered the love of home-recording. Not playing any instruments yet, he would record sound effects and voice-sketches and anything else he thought sounded interesting. He loved listening to classic rock on headphones.

He was recording with his friends (who played drums and guitar) when he got a bass guitar for his birthday. After a few awkward months and a few lessons he got pretty good at it. He taught himself how to play the drums by tapping and stomping along to Led Zeppelin. When his sister got a drumset he started practicing on it whenever he could.

Later on in his twenties he decided he wanted to start writing songs. For this he taught himself how to play guitar, learning as much from his talented friends as his cd collection. When he had enough songs for an album he went into the basement with a four-track cassette recorder and went to it. He eventually made four albums like this in the late 90’s and early 00’s, influenced by XTC, David Bowie, The Beatles, The Police, and many many many others.

Demos For The Sweethearts is the third album and is the most “bare-bones” recording of the four. It was originally only intended to be a blue-print for how he wanted his live band to play songs, but the reaction to the cassette tapes of it floating around was strong enough that the collection ended up on this CD. You can listen to all of the songs right here on CDBaby to see if it’s up your alley. Beau Landry hopes you’ll like it and buy it.
