Details:
I started playing guitar at age 8. Wanting to learn piano I asked for lessons between the age of 5 and 6. At that time, we did not have a piano in our house. We did have a guitar. It took my mother two years to find a teacher who would take me as a student. Most whom she asked said, I was to young and I could not reach the end of the fret board because my hands were to small. At age 8, my mom found a classical guitar instructor who agreed to take me as a student. I studied classical guitar through college. My real passion however, is writing and playing acoustic music. When I was eleven we acquired an upright piano. All of my music is composed on piano then transferred later to the guitar. I''ve been writing music since the summer of sixth grade. In the music sampling on this page you will hear: 1) Long Ago, written at age 11 after experiencing the devastation of an oil spill where my family lived, on Narragansett Bay, in RI; 2) Common Place, is about how music effects every soul and all cultures. It has other parts and voices which I have not yet had the opportunity to record; and 3) Peanut Butter, which is a relationship song written in my first year of music school at Hartt School of Music. At Hartt, I heard Jazz for the first time and you will hear the jazz chording in this song...............
