"All of Me"- A song I''ve long been meaning to write, but the right words took months to surface. "All of Me" is a snapshot of love in retrospect. Both lovers have turned the page, but not before one of them lays it all on the line and expresses their feelings toward the other person. Deep down, they want to know that they''ve made the right life AND love decision.
"LBLM"- What began as a 4 chord funk/blues groove, transformed into a number about a woman who can drive a man out of his mind. As I hummed the melody line over and over, "Little Bitty Lovin'' Machine" popped right in there as the hook; so, I went with my intuition and then jazzed it up a few more notches. It has been exciting to write a carefree song about nothing or nobody in particular.
"To Walk Away"- This was the first song I ever began writing (in a Panera Bread in Franklin, TN), but not the first recorded. It was built on a fun little two to 3 note harmonic progression, but finding the right lyrics took some time. Think that it had to do with the strive for perfection with this song. It meant a lot and needed the appropriate amount of care and massaging. Most everyone can relate to a love that can''t quite meet eye to eye, but the struggle to walk away from it leaves a major void and a slew of internal questioning.
