Is this actually a band from Swizerland? Hard to believe, as there is nothing small in REDEEM''s music. In fact it''s Rock for the big scales. The single „Promises“ catches immediate attention, and features besides REDEEM''s lead singer & mastermind Stefano Paolucci additional vocals by H-Blockx''s Henning Wehland. „999“ delivers catchy hooks, kick-ass beats, powerful riffs, affecting emotions, and – last not least – a unique voice by Stefano „Saint“ Paolucci. This is how Rockmusic in the year of 2011 is supposed to be ... and besides, it wouldn''t be the first time that a band from Swizerland takes off!
ABOUT THE ALBUM "999"
Eight years ago Stefano „Saint“ Paolucci founded REDEEM, initially just for fun and to have a beer with his friends. It actually became way more serious. REDEEM''s debutalbum „Eleven“ thrilled both critics and listeners. The first video „Alive“ achiefed heavy rotation in Swiss MTV/Viva, and climbed rank 56 in radion airplay charts. This was a significant „succès d''estime“. All of a suddden, REDEEM shared stages with bands such as 3 Doors Down, Die Toten Hosen, Daughtry or Gotthard. Now the new album „999“ and the single „Promises“ are ready for take off.
„Eleven“ sounded quite american style. Bands such as 3 Doors Down, Nickleback, or Paolucci''s favourites Pearl Jam left their marks. REDEEM supported 3 Doors Down in Germany, Swizerland and Holland, toured with Gotthard, Daughtry, Magnum, and opened for Die Toten Hosen. „We experienced a lot on these tours“ singer, songwriter and mastermind Paolucci remembers, and he proudly adds: „We had to satisfy the crowd just by our songs, and it worked.“
After ca. 80 shows per year, Stefano Paolucci, drummer Simon Steiner and bass player Pom Albisser took a well-earned rest, to work on new songs for „999“. The trio intentionally enlarged it''s musical spectrum. The outcome was obviously convincing, and REDEEM gathered a quite impressing group of international reputated musicians, songwriters, producers, mixers and masterer to contribute to „999“.
The single „Promises“ features beside Stefano Paolucci, H-Blockx'' Henning Wehland on additional vocals. „Promises“ was a.o. written by Swedish top-songwriter Per Eklund, and mixed by British hitproducer Steve Power. „Broken“ was mixed by Rich Chycki, „Come Speak To Me“ was produced by Franz Plasa. The rest of the album was produced by Arne Neurand. „An extraordinary talented guy, who has worked with Guano Apes and Revolverheld. We picked him, because he was capable to implement our musical visions perfectly.“
„999“ sounds less „classic american style“, it became more wide and modern. Few keyboards were sensitively added. „999“ presents REDEEM''s typical rought edges, branded by a powerful synergy of catchy hooks, kick-ass beats, cutting riffs and affecting emotions. REDEEM remain true to themselfes, stay hungry, but at the same time the are grown and more self-reliant. 999“ is an impressing statement in re Rock in the year of 2011.
Finally, the albumtitle: „999“ is UK''s emergency call, that Steve Power suggested to call, as Pom Albisser got lost in London after going to get more beer ...
