ABOUT THE MAKING OF THIS SONG:
Feeling a creative impulse and the weight of fans incessant request for new music, Enation drummer Richard Lee decided to pull a rabbit (or, really, a song) out of the preverbal hat. Enation was in the middle of a recording session for their forthcoming album when Richard talked to brother and lead singer Jonathan about squeezing in one more tune before their session was over. The song was ''Glorious''––which Jonathan had written it several years prior––and it was a song that Jonathan and Richard Lee always wanted to record. Logistically, they were already swamped, and trying to fit another song in was, unfortunately, out of the question.
"I really wanted to have a new song for the Holiday/Christmas time. Our fans have been asking for new music, seeing us record off and on for the past year, and I really wanted to have a great song for them."
Never being one to take ''no'' lightly, Richard Lee switched gears. What if the band tried to create the song a different way?
"Usually, we book time in a studio and try and hammer out songs around that studio''s schedule. The studio was booked up, already working on several of our new tracks, and Jonathan and Michael were taking off (Jonathan to CA, Michael to NC). For a long time we have been talking about creating our own studio, and have been collecting gear over the last few years towards that end, primarily for demoing purposes. A big step this year was when we all decided to get Pro Tools (recording equipment) for each member of the band. My thought was, ''Let''s see if we can pull off "Glorious" on our own.''"
Richard Lee and Daniel Sweatt headed up recordings in WA where the two of them and Luke Galeotti were at. They then sent those sessions to Michael in NC and Jonathan in CA -- both laying down their respective instruments from their Pro Tools rigs.
"It was a bit of an experiment," Richard Lee continues. "We didn''t even let our fans know we were working on it because we weren''t sure if it would turn out. In the back of my mind I knew that it had to hold up to our other music, and I knew Jonathan wouldn''t want to put something of ours out unless it was truly going hold up to our other music."
With the recordings completed in WA, CA, and NC, Richard Lee, Daniel, and Jonathan mixed the song, (Mixing it in WA, then sending it to Jonathan for his notes and adjustments, and then putting down the final mix.)
"The end result is a song that we are really proud of," Richard Lee says. "We wanted to capture the Spirit of Christmas, that feeling of wonder and innocence and celebration. We also enjoyed experimenting with a driving dance rhythm underscoring our anthemic approach to Euro-Rock. It was a collaborative effort from across two coasts and up and down another. We hope the fans love it, and see it as a valuable addition to our growing catalogue of music."
"Captivating... One of the most elegant formations of American rock."
“Much of the material on the Pacific Northwest band’s ‘World in Flight’ is driven by echo-laden guitars reminiscent of U2, splashes of piano that call to mind Coldplay and an arena-rock backbeat that holds it all together.”
"Fast becoming recognized as one of the best epic rock bands around, the group combines expensive jams with honest, soulful lyricism."

“Enation work magic… that lets all the raw-nerve intensity of frontman Jonathan Jackson''s songwriting bleed out… he''ll make you a believer.”
“…compare to Coldplay, Snow Patrol… gentle waves of reverberated guitar and crisp piano lines that suggest a quiet, ponderous spirituality… vivid lyrics…”
“…soothing… great songs… rich in symbolism… Enation… have burst on the scene.”
Enation is an anthemic American rock band with a Euro/Rock flare fronted by Jonathan Jackson and is fast becoming known as one of the premier independent rock bands around. Their music has been on https://www.tradebit.com, ''One Tree Hill'', A&E’s ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ and has already had a song go Top 10 on the iTunes Rock Charts -- as well as held 5 of the Top 10 songs on the National CDBaby Rock Charts, the largest distributor of independent music in the world.
Enation was also one of the few artists to be invited to represent CDBaby at the International Folk Alliance 2010 (scheduling did not permit them to perform), as well as being asked to donate their song "Eyes of Grace" (from their album ''World In Flight'') to the national CDBaby benefit CD “Solace: A Benefit For Haiti” to help the victims of the recent Haiti earthquake.
Combining expanse and creativity sonically with honesty of soul lyrically, Enation have built an international fan base, selling thousands of albums at home and abroad. Their dedicated fans, known as ENATION ARMY, are so passionate that they have traveled across states, coasts, and even continents to see them play.
Their album, ‘World In Flight’, has been received with glowing reviews from critics and fans alike. “The theme of ‘World In Flight’ is about liberation of soul and spirit,” Enation frontman Jonathan Jackson says, “But not a liberation you can fully understand, it’s a liberation that makes you dizzy. It''s about being awakened to dreams. It''s about paradigms changing, being open to the brilliant sky above you. It also embraces pain as a vehicle for breakthrough and transformation.”
With a beautifully complex and emotional catalogue of music that has earned them the reputation as one of the premiere independent rock bands in America, Enation continues to stake new ground in a world that holds endless possibilities for them.
