Details:
Local Honey is an acoustic band based in Toledo, Ohio. They play original songs inspired by traditions from around the world while featuring the unique instrumentation of vibraphone, acoustic guitar, double bass, and drums. Occasionally they also add mandolin, cello, banjo, and harmonica to their arrangements. Their debut album, Blue Highway Lovechild, is to be released in Spring of 2011. This collection of songs feature catchy vocal melodies, with layered harmonies, and diverse grooves borrowed from Rock, Reggae, Tango, Samba, Calypso, and more. Maybe Reggae is the first single from the band.

Vytas Nagisetty (vocals, guitar) has had a diverse career as a bassist, composer, and singer/songwriter. For example, he has played bass with jazz legend Pharaoh Sanders, composed the score for Oscar winner Kate Hudson''s first film, and performed all over the world including such seldom traveled places as Lithuania and Guam. In 1999 he made his performance debut as a singer/songwriter at Austin''s South by Southwest film festival, sharing the bill with Rilo Kiley and Catpower. He holds bachelor of arts degrees in music and French literature from UC Berkeley, and a bachelor of science degree in computer math from the University of Toledo. Today, he regularly performs in the Toledo area, either as a bassist or as a singer/songwriter.

Steve Knurek (bass, vocals) is interested in a variety of musical styles. He studied music at the University of Toledo and participated in various ensembles connected with school and outside school. Although jazz was Steve''s primary music concentration in college, Steve became intrigued by the sounds of Latin America. Steve is currently enrolled in the Latin jazz ensemble at the UT and is also taking classes in the field of environmental science. Outside school, Steve is playing bass (electric and upright) in four bands.

Joe Sneider (vibraphone) is currently the youngest member of Local Honey. He is enrolled at The University of Toledo pursuing a degree in jazz performance. Along with jazz vibes, Joe also plays drumset with several rock groups and plays guitar and sings at a local church. He teaches percussion privately and at Findlay HS. He has been a WGI and DCI world finalist, playing in Matrix and in The Glassmen. Joe has his hands dipped in many genres of music and Local Honey exemplifies many of his talents.

Bubba Baker (drums, vocals) and Vytas started working together as far back as 2005, in a different band called the Electric Outfit. Bubba started drums at the age of eleven and comes from a musical family. He is well known in the Toledo area for his work with Chopzilla, and The Sweatpants.
