The seeds of "U R My Woman" came from a personal epiphany. Tian spent many years in New York searching for a musical home. Unfortunately, his desire to have a large band and groove infused funk style that was not readily embraced by the industry. “A lot of parallels were drawn about my music, and I would get meetings, but the minute I would sit down with an exec, they would want me to change… be a clone of whoever was hot or dancing in a choreographed line. …it wasn’t me,”
