Matthew Rineer is based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he pens his simple folk songs focusing on the uncertainty of geographical fluidity and the corresponding resolve to move forward, trusting that love is waiting with open arms, spanning past, present and future.
Most recently, with producer Andy Hubbard, Rineer has recorded “Survive” — a three song EP featuring percussion, piano, pedal steel, electric bass and guitar, harmony vocals, b3 organ, and acoustic guitar. It was recorded, mixed and mastered at Wide Studios in East Nashville.
Rineer was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he first started writing songs as a college freshman in a dorm basement. He began playing bass in a rock band and did solo acoustic gigs around town. Around this time he visited Tennessee and fell in love with the place. After graduation he moved to Nashville, where he now lives with his wife.
