Sultan Pepper makes music they think doesn''t exist yet. Let them know if you think they sound like another band and they''ll quickly change their genre. With the help of some friends and other complete strangers, Sultan Pepper is set up for (at least mild) success. In March of 2009, Sultan Pepper won $10,000 in an Amp 90.3 (formerly Fuel 90.3) Rock Star contest. After spending all their earnings on Gameboy Colours, an indoor petting zoo, and a bunch of musical equipment, they found themselves broke again. Luckily though, Henry Small (Lead singer of the 80''s Prism, Small Change, and random bands in Kamloops) took notice of the quartet and through either the kindness of his soul or a lost bet, donated some of his time, money, and expertise to help them produce their first album. The result of which are recordings that reflect both Sultan Pepper''s creativity, and Henry Small''s decades of musical experience. Since then, Sultan Pepper has begun to make their mark on not only the local Calgary music scene, but wherever else is willing to listen to them. In Calgary, you can hear them fairly regularly on X92.9 and occasionally at the Pengrowth Saddledome during NHL and WHL hockey games. South of the border, Louisiana Tech got a hold of their music in August and by early November Sultan Pepper had reached No. 1 on the University radio charts. These four young, Calgary hoodlums are now doing everything they can to increase their exposure, allowing people from all walks of life to experience their music.
This album was Sultan Pepper''s first foray into the music industry. Recorded in a home studio in NW Calgary, Sultan Pepper gives their fans a taste of what''s to come with this 4-song EP
