Spirit & Image was recorded at Colorado Sound Studio between July 2, 2010 and January 8, 2011. All songs on the album were written by Steven Lyle. Some of the songs took 20 years to complete and others took only 45 minutes. The rest fell somewhere in between. Steven plays all acoustic and electric rythym and lead guitar except for two tracks. On "The Ski" and "For All The Children" two of Steven''s close friends layed down the lead guitar licks. This is an eclectic album which covers many different musical genres: country, soft jazz, folk and straight up rock & roll. Singing all vocals and harmonies, Steven''s somewhat soft vocal approach to all of his songs allows the listener to become enveloped in the melodies, on an almost visceral level. From the timeless ballads to the topical tracks which touch on our current immigration dilemma to the war in Iraq, this album has something to offer everyone.
