This song began as a poem of the same title, written in 1999 by John A (Jay) Woods. It made its way around the Unity Church circuit in the form of beautiful bookmarks, and in the spring of 2010, it appeared in Unity''s The Daily Word magazine. It has been circulated to 150 countries in 7 languages, and has inspired a 7 week curriculum around its twelve principles.
The energy of the poem begins in one place and builds upon itself, as the words inspire and uplift.
As a result of all of our many shared Unity Church friends on Facebook, Jay contacted me in October of 2010 to ask if I would be willing to put music to his work. As we spoke on the phone for the first time, I could feel the words begin to move through me in three quarter time, as a waltz. It quickly became the song it is today, and I am amazed at how it evokes healing and emotion in many listeners. Please see the lyrics below.
