The Libby Prison Minstrels was the name of an original group of musicians held prisioner in the infamous Libby Prison during the American Civil War from 1861 - 1865. They kept the spirit of the men alive through the music they played during their prison stay. The Libby Prison Minstrels of today is a revival of that group that continues to keep the American spirit of the CIvil War era alive in their music.
