Bill Fanciullo''s music runs a considerable gamut, with rock, jazz, electronic and other influences. This album, "Oddly Enough," is his least formulaic release to date. The title track "Oddly Enough" goes through significant changes, and that title is used to describe this album as compared to earlier releases. "88" evolves based on the changing bass line which is the controlling song element. "Done Already" is drum/percussion and guitar (synthesized) heavy, sometimes with a far-away quality. "A New Day" is the least formulaic, the least structured of this bunch and is not for everyone--it is darker, at times non-linear; one person said: "I don''t know why I like it, but I do." Isn''t that what music should be? Especially instrumental music - trying to express beyond words. And sometimes taking chances.
