Undoubtedly one of the most dynamic entertainers in the world, Caii-Michelle Gordon was born in Gisborne, New Zealand and has a tribal heritage Ngatiporou from the East Coast and Rongowhakaata. Launching her career into Australia by the Legendary Great late Prince Tui Teka, Caii-Michelle has never ceased to amaze her audience with her versatile vocal ability and stage presence.
Her first Solo performance was to packed audiences and receiving standing ovations at the Royal Hawaiian. Caii-Michelle has gone from strength to strength, continuing to grace the International stage with successful tours in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and the USA, as well as performing on ‘five star’ Cruise Lines throughout the Pacific. Caii-Michelle is the only Artist from Australia and New Zealand ever chosen to be vocally tutored in Los Angeles by the late Great, Ms Vivienne Greene, mother of Suzzaye Greene of the Supremes. She has won National Awards for her unbelievable talent, scooping the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award for the Latin American Community; as well claiming 3 Gold Medals and 3 Best Performance Trophies in the World Championships Performing Arts held in L.A.
Caii-Michelle has an amazing ability to sing in different languages; excelling in Maori, Italian, Chinese, Indonesian and Spanish. Hence she has been the preferred choice on many occasions performing the N.Z. and Aust National Anthems at Rugby Bledisloe Cups. Twice most recently she has sung the Australian Anthem and the Star Spangled Banner at Conferences in the USA. Caii-Michelle is the only female vocalist chosen from Australia to perform at the 30 years celebration between China and Australia - proudly performing a duet in Chinese with a carefully selected Chinese Opera Star. Caii-Michelle''s Golden Voice had her chosen recently to be the first performer in Bledisloe Cup History to perform both the New Zealand and Australian National Anthems at the Hong Kong Bledisloe Cup in October 2010.
Caii-Michelle believes that singing and performing is a special form of communication between artist and audience. A devoted Rotarian, her skills and talent are utilised constantly to help those in need, and it was no surprise to all that Sydney CBD Rotary awarded Caii-Michelle a Paul Harris Fellow as well as appointing her as their “Rotary Ambassador”. Caii-Michelle has recently arrived back from the USA recording a song which she wrote as the Theme Song for Cancer Sufferers World Wide – it is to be launched in October 2011. Caii-Michelle will be returning to the USA to continue recording her new album which is part of a Global Project of 16 years in creation – this album will continue to raise funds for Charities all around the world.
Caii-Michelle supports Charities World Wide and the purchase her Theme Song "Just Like You" CD Special Edition will help to ‘Save A Life’ and assist in moving the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home forward. They service the most Council areas in Sydney New south Wales and desperately need help as they are self-funded in saving the lives of lost and abandoned dogs, cats and any other little creatures that come in to their care. A generous 50% of every Album sold goes to the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home and the theme song "Just Like You" is a must listen.
