Chilli Tap started as a RHCP styled jam.
Kypo wrote the opening line at home, and emailed it off to liam. Liam came up with the opening groove. The verse riff came about at rehearsals, when the group was trying to right a hard funk stlye similar to the RHCP.
The bridge section was a idea Liam had wrote on Logic. Alex and Brad transposed the parts onto their instruments. During rehearsals, the band liked a setting on the Eventide Pitch Factor, which also lead to the development of the edge sounding delay section.
The final tap section came about as a live jam of the song at Scruffy Murphies. The song was performed without an ending, rather a live jam. This idea then developed into the final section ad outro in rehearsals.
This track was recorded Live to disk on 21st August 2010 at the Sound Check Studios in Sydney. Recorded on a Roland SI-24 into Logic Pro on a Mac G4.
