I have always wanted
to make an album of my own music:
So here it is!
I’m proud to present it to the world!
Some of these pieces
I wrote a long time ago yet never recorded,
others are more recent.
Bass-players are cast in the role of the side-man. We are expected to
stay in the pocket and hold down a groove, while the other musicians
play the melodies or solo. Usually we get our moment to shine only at
the end of the gig when we have already given everything as an
accompanist.
When I wrote these pieces I tried to find a form that would give
everybody a moment to be featured. Here my role as a bass-player has
changed in as much as I play the melody and solo. This gives me the
freedom I want.
