He began his music career in 1985 with his first band; The Rogues in Washington D.C.. After a stint in local bands in the Philadelphia area, Jim turned his efforts to more acoustic style of writing and perfrming and in 2003 Jim released a solo acoustic CD "Begin Again" which you can listen to on this site. Jim is currently lives in Philadelphia, writing and playing shows and looks to record a new CD this summer with shows in the region to support its release. Jim''s music has been described as cross between Johnny Cash and Bruce Springsteen and draws from his lifetime of travel and experiences , especially his time growing up in the South. Jims songs combinecompelling stories and characters with music drawn from traditional folk to driving rock. His frequents open mikes in addition to his regular shows, esepcially the bi weekly open mikes at the Mermaid Inn, in Philadelphia''s Chestnut Hill neighborhood. His new EP Family Wall will be available this holiday season.
