Details:
Jim Houston is a singer/songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. He was previously the frontman of the rock/groove band, “Few-2-Unkool” in the 80''s. Paying their dues on the Melbourne pub circuit like many other bands, Few-2-Unkool played at some of the leading venues around Melbourne. They performed a number of Jim''s original tunes culminating in the release of their independent single "Whispers" in 1985 which received airplay on mainstream radio. Some time after, the band split but the core of the band''s line-up Houston and guitarist John Azaris, have continued to write and work together. Inspired by life''s roller coaster journey, Houston has continued to write tunes that come from the soul. The raw power of his voice pounds out the emotion and breathes life into lyrics that resonate with the listener''s own life journeys. In collaboration with long-term musical partner Azaris, he has produced a collection of songs that are instantly memorable. The unique sounds can be attributed to influences including rock, blues, country and soul. The first single from their upcoming album is “Sixty Miles From Sydney” a tale of lost love and resilience. Jim has also written for film, with two of his songs, Chains of Love and Hold Up Your Heart appearing on the short film Two Of A Kind released last year, which was screened at the Angry Film Festival in Melbourne.
