Paul discovered his talent for writing and performing children’s music while teaching elementary school. After high school, Paul completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Waterloo and graduated from Teachers College in London, Ontario in 1994. He taught elementary school with the Waterloo County Board of Education before embarking on a full-time music career.
In 1994, Paul wrote a song entitled, The Greatest Prehistoric Band, accompanied by a children’s book. Emerald Records of Nashville, Tennessee were so impressed with Paul’s music that they released, “The Greatest Prehistoric Band”, and another one of his well crafted songs, “Were All Different On The Outside.” In 1999, Popular Records and E.M.I. Music of Canada signed Paul to a nation-wide record contract and released his educational album entitled “Singing, Learning and Laughing”. Paul won a prestigious “Parents’ Choice Award” for this release.
Since 2002, Paul has been featured on the Children’s Television Show “TQ”. Paul has recorded a total of ten songs for “TQ”. In 2007, Paul’s CD “Happy Hands, Happy Feet” was nominated as “The Best Children’s Album of the Year”. Paul has also been nominated as “The Children’s Entertainer of the Year”, by the Entertainer Network of Nashville, Tennessee.
Paul continues to tour and appear on television and radio programs throughout Canada. Recently Paul released his third CD entitled “Catch A Tune”, featuring fifteen original songs. Paul performs a very popular show entitled “The Bully and the Purple Pants”. Through the use of songs and stories, Paul teaches children effective strategies for dealing with bullies. He enjoys country living and resides in southern Ontario with his wife and children.
